Diversified conglomerate Hinduja Group has agreed to invest ₹20,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh in a phased manner. The decision followed a meeting in London between Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Hinduja Group executives- Ashok Hinduja (Chairman, Hinduja Group India), Prakash Hinduja (Chairman, Hinduja Group Europe), and Shom Hinduja (Founder, Hinduja Renewables).
According to a statement from the state government, the agreement involves expanding the Visakhapatnam power plant by 1,600 MW and setting up solar and wind energy projects in the Rayalaseema region. Additionally, the Hinduja Group will establish an electric bus and light commercial vehicle manufacturing plant at Mallavalli in Krishna district to strengthen the state’s EV ecosystem.
The pact also includes the creation of a statewide network of electric charging stations in collaboration with the government to promote green mobility. Chief Minister Naidu said the partnership with the Hinduja Group highlights Andhra Pradesh’s growing prominence as a hub for renewable energy and sustainable industrial investments.
