Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI)’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) has started the online application process for its Civil Services Coaching Programme 2026-27 from today, April 1, 2026.


This coaching programme is completely free of cost and aims to provide high-quality guidance to students preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2027. Only those candidates who have completed their graduation and are eligible to appear for the 2027 Civil Services Examination can apply. Candidates who are currently enrolled in regular courses or are employed are not eligible to apply.

Important Dates

The written entrance examination will be held on June 6, 2026, and its result will be declared on July 10, 2026. After that, shortlisted candidates are likely to be called for interviews between July 16 and 31 and the final result is expected to be announced by August 7, 2026.

Selected candidates will have to complete admission by August 18, while the admission process for the waiting list will be completed by August 25. Classes will commence from September 1, 2026. A total of 100 seats are available under this programme and selected candidates will be provided hostel facilities along with a 24×7 air-conditioned library, test series, answer writing practice, essay guidance and mock interviews.

This coaching programme is specifically available for candidates belonging to minorities, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and women.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process 

The entrance examination will be based on the UPSC pattern and will consist of two papers. The first paper will be objective in nature (General Studies) with 60 questions, each carrying one mark and there will be negative marking of one-third mark for each incorrect answer.

The second paper will be descriptive, requiring candidates to write two essays carrying a total of 60 marks. The total duration of the examination will be three hours and only the essay copies of the top 900 candidates from Paper I will be evaluated. Candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for an offline interview carrying 30 marks.

The examination will be conducted across 13 cities Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Calicut and Ranchi allowing candidates from across the country to participate.

Additional Important Information 

Selection in this coaching programme will be strictly based on merit. It will be mandatory for selected candidates to stay in the hostel, enabling them to focus better on their preparation. This programme offers a significant opportunity for economically weaker but talented students. However, the selection process is highly competitive so candidates are advised to prepare at a high level before appearing for the examination.
