The launch follows the brand’s earlier entries into Hyderabad and Delhi in 2025 and marks its entry into one of India’s most competitive and high-growth foodservice markets.
Bengaluru is considered a key destination for international food and beverage brands due to its strong organised foodservice ecosystem. The city ranks third after Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, with more than 110,000 outlets and industry growth estimated at 8 to 13 percent CAGR. Bagelstein’s expansion into the city reflects a strategic focus on markets with high footfall, young consumers and strong demand for global dining formats. Bengaluru-based mind reader Abhishek Majitya attended the opening as a special guest.
The new outlet offers Bagelstein’s core menu, including freshly baked bagels, spreads, sandwiches, desserts and coffee-based beverages. The store design follows the brand’s established European styling combined with informal visual elements, aligning with its global positioning. From a hospitality business standpoint, the format is designed for quick service while maintaining a cafe-style experience.
The expansion comes at a time when India’s cafe and casual dining segment is seeing steady growth, driven largely by younger consumers shifting toward Western-style food and beverage options. Industry estimates place café market growth at 15 to 20 percent annually with Bengaluru emerging as a leading market for experience-led dining. Bagelstein has announced plans to scale to 100 stores across major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad by 2029.
Gaurav Marya, Founder and Chairman, Franchise India, said "Bagelstein's cheeky bagels and bold vibe perfectly match India's emerging youth craving gourmet cafe indulgences-one naughty bite at a time."
Ravish Malhotra, Area Developer, Bagelstein Bengaluru, added, "Bengaluru's vibrant food scene is perfect for our bagels, an emerging disruptive snack category. From Hyderabad to Delhi and now Bengaluru, we're toasting bold flavours and building a cult following.”
Bagelstein’s Bengaluru entry strengthens its position in India’s growing QSR and cafe segment. The brand’s focus on a niche product category combined with rapid multi-city expansion highlights increasing confidence among global foodservice players in India’s organised retail dining market.
