BYD India has launched the SEALION 7 Festive Edition in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 50.60 lakh. Limited to 150 units, the special edition is based on the existing SEALION 7 Premium variant and introduces a Tan and Black interior colour scheme. The mechanical specifications and features remain unchanged from the standard Premium variant. The launch coincides with India's festive season, when automakers typically introduce special editions to attract buyers.
The BYD SEALION 7 Festive Edition is powered by an 82.56kWh Blade Battery and incorporates the company's Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which integrates the battery pack into the vehicle's structural frame. It also features Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC), an electronic system that adjusts torque distribution between the wheels. The electric powertrain produces 230kW of power and 380Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in 6.7 seconds. BYD claims a driving range of 567km under the NEDC test cycle.
In terms of features, the Festive Edition retains a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade and a heads-up display. The Tan and Black interior is the primary addition specific to this edition. Safety equipment includes 11 airbags, while the SEALION 7 has received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
Introduced in India in 2025, the BYD SEALION 7 operates in the premium electric SUV segment. According to the company, more than 4,500 units of the model are currently on Indian roads. In 2026, the SUV received several industry recognitions, including Luxury Mid-size SUV of the Year at the ACKO Drive TOTM 2026, Premium EV of the Year at the car&bike Awards 2026 and Premium SUV of the Year at the TV9 Awards. It also won Best EV Design at the CarBike360 Auto Excellence Awards, where BYD's Blade Battery technology was recognised as Best New EV Battery Technology.
Priced at Rs 50.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the SEALION 7 Festive Edition carries a slight premium over the standard Premium variant, primarily due to its revised interior colour scheme rather than any mechanical upgrades. With production capped at 150 units, availability is expected to be limited to BYD India existing dealership network. The edition adds another option to the company's premium electric SUV portfolio during the festive buying season.
