Drivn, EIM Sign Deal to Deploy 1,000 EV Trucks
Drivn and Energy in Motion (EIM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 21, 2026, to deploy around 1,000 electric trucks across India over the next two years.

The agreement covers vehicle supply, financing structures, deployment planning, lifecycle management, and energy support. Both companies will jointly identify deployment opportunities, align vehicle specifications, and provide after-sales support, including charging and battery-swapping solutions.

Drivn’s CEO and Co-founder Manav Bansal said that scaling electric trucks in India will depend on strong commercial viability, consistent performance, and reliable operations. He added that the partnership aims to deliver a comprehensive and practical solution for fleet operators.

Co-founder and Chief Business Officer Alpna Jain highlighted that the collaboration integrates financing, supply, and operational support to simplify the transition to electric mobility for fleet operators.

Narendra M. Murkumbi stated that the MoU validates EIM’s approach of scaling EV adoption in heavy commercial vehicles through battery-swapping-based energy solutions.

The partnership follows Drivn’s recent $80 million investment from Nomura. EIM, which began commercial operations in August 2025, offers electric tractors without battery packs and provides battery, charging, and swapping infrastructure separately.

This collaboration is seen as a significant step toward strengthening India’s electric commercial vehicle ecosystem and accelerating large-scale EV adoption.
