Eternal, the parent company of food delivery platform Zomato and quick commerce firm Blinkit, has been served a goods and services tax (GST) demand order totaling nearly ₹3.7 crore, including interest and penalty, for the period between April 2019 and March 2020.
The order was issued by the Additional Commissioner of State Tax (Appeals), West Bengal, and pertains to the alleged short payment of output GST during the relevant financial year.
In a regulatory filing made late Tuesday, Eternal disclosed that it received the order on January 6, 2026. The tax authority has confirmed a GST demand of ₹1.92 crore, along with interest of ₹1.58 crore and a penalty of ₹19.24 lakh, taking the total liability to ₹3,69,80,242.
The company said it is reviewing the order and remains confident about its position. Eternal added that it believes it has strong grounds on merit and plans to challenge the decision by filing an appeal with the appropriate appellate authority.
Eternal did not indicate any immediate financial impact from the order, stating that the matter is subject to further legal proceedings.
