The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong has recently been awarded the prestigious accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB is globally regarded as the “gold standard” in management education. With this achievement, IIM Shillong has now joined the league of the world’s top and elite business schools.
This accreditation is considered extremely significant for any business school because less than 6 percent of business schools worldwide have earned AACSB Accreditation. With this recognition, IIM Shillong has become one of nearly 30 AACSB-accredited institutions in India. It is also among the select few IIMs to achieve this international recognition.
AACSB accreditation is granted after a rigorous evaluation of several important standards, including teaching quality, research, curriculum, student success and societal impact. The review process assesses the institution’s academic standards, faculty quality, industry connections, research work and continuous improvement practices.

Professor Naliniprava Tripathy, Director in-charge of IIM Shillong, said that this achievement reflects the collective efforts and dedication of the entire IIM Shillong community.
