With 1,856 industry certifications awarded in just one academic year, the university has demonstrated that a degree becomes far more valuable when combined with globally relevant skills, a flexible credit system and industry-focused training.
The initiative reflects the rapid transformation taking place in higher education. Students are no longer expected to rely solely on classroom learning; instead, they are being equipped with practical, career-oriented skills that meet the demands of modern industries. Keeping this objective in mind, the Advanced Credit Program has been designed to enable students to earn globally recognized certifications and job-ready skills even before formally beginning their degree programs.
Credit Transfer Makes Learning More Flexible
Under the Advanced Credit Program, students can complete certified courses and earn credit points, which can later be integrated into their academic progression. These credits can also be transferred from one course to another or from one stream to another, offering students greater flexibility and supporting interdisciplinary learning.
The system is equally beneficial for students who may need to pause their studies due to personal or professional reasons. If they resume their education later in a different program, they can utilize the credits earned earlier, eliminating the need to repeat coursework. This saves both time and effort while strengthening the concept of multiple entry and exit pathways in modern higher education.
The program also provides flexibility for students who wish to change their career path. For instance, a student pursuing science at the undergraduate level can later transition into Data Science or Management while retaining previously earned credits. This helps students understand industry expectations early and prepare more effectively for future career opportunities.
60 New Industry-Oriented Courses Introduced for 2026–27
For the 2026–27 academic session, the university has introduced 60 industry-focused courses covering emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Taxation, FinTech, Smart Cities, Cancer Biology, Digital Communication and Critical Thinking.
The Engineering cluster offers 23 courses, the Management cluster includes 15 courses, and the Liberal Arts cluster features 6 courses. Additionally, 8 common courses are available for students across all streams, including Communication Skills, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship. The university has also introduced 5 interdisciplinary courses for Engineering and Management students, 1 integrated course spanning Engineering, Management and Science, along with 2 specialized Science programs focusing on Bioinformatics and Environmental Sustainability.
All these courses have been designed in line with global industry requirements. Students can complete them online from the comfort of their homes, allowing them to balance academic studies with continuous skill development.
Industry Partnerships Provide Global Exposure
The Advanced Credit Program is supported by renowned industry partners, including Intel, AWS Academy, EC-Council, SAS, Altium, Tally, The Australia Today and LifeSenz. These collaborations ensure that students receive training aligned with current industry standards and gain practical knowledge relevant to the evolving job market.
The certification-based model enables students to earn verified industry skills alongside their degree. Instead of waiting until the final years of college to become career-ready, students can begin strengthening their professional profiles from the very beginning. The completion of 1,856 industry certifications in the first year itself reflects the strong response and enthusiasm shown by students toward the initiative.

Prof. (Dr.) Thipendra P. Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, said that the Advanced Credit Program has received an overwhelming response from students. He noted that 1,856 industry certifications were completed in the past year, demonstrating that today's learners are eager to complement their degrees with industry-relevant skills.
He further added that the university has always focused on making students industry-ready from the very beginning. Through ACP, students have gained access to future-focused domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing and Data Science, helping them strengthen both their technical capabilities and confidence.
The success of the Advanced Credit Program demonstrates Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh's commitment to moving beyond conventional education by building a model where students gain industry certifications, flexible credit pathways and access to industry-aligned learning from the early stages of their academic journey.
