LightFury Games, a Bengaluru-based game-tech startup, has raised USD 11 million (around INR 103 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures, V3 Ventures, MIXI and Times Internet. The round also saw participation from Indian cricketers including MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Tilak Varma, Sai Sudharsan and Hardik Pandya.
This follows its earlier seed funding of USD 8.5 million raised in April 2024.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to complete the development of its flagship title, eCricket and to build its live operations infrastructure, including post-launch content pipelines.
Founded in 2024 by Karan Shroff, Anurag Banerjee and Tina Balachandran, LightFury Games focuses on creating high-quality, mobile-first gaming experiences. Its upcoming title, built on Unreal Engine 5, aims to deliver an immersive and competitive cricket gaming experience for global audiences.
The game is expected to feature tactical batting and bowling systems, physics-based gameplay, AI-driven commentary and a broadcast-style presentation. It is scheduled for release on mobile platforms in 2026. LightFury has secured global player roster rights for over 600 professional cricketers, including Chris Gayle, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Pat Cummins, Jos Buttler, Travis Head and Andre Russell.
The game will follow a free-to-play model, offering in-app purchases such as player cards, cosmetic upgrades and season passes, without any real-money gaming elements.
