L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT) and Tata Electronics have announced a strategic partnership to expand indigenous manufacturing of chip products in India for global customers. The alliance aims to build design and manufacturing capabilities to support next-generation products across automotive, industrial, communications, security and intelligent-edge sectors.
The partnership combines LTSCT fabless design capabilities with Tata Electronics’ semiconductor packaging and foundry operations to advance domestic chip manufacturing. Both companies will jointly explore fabrication and packaging opportunities for LTSCT current and future chip products across Tata Electronics’ fab process technologies and packaging solutions, along with design-to-fabrication optimisations for efficient manufacturing at scale.
The collaboration aligns with the Indian government Semicon 2.0 initiative, which focuses on domestic ecosystem development and value addition to position India as a leader in the global semiconductor industry.
