Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the electric version of its popular compact SUV, the XUV 3XO, in India, with ex-showroom prices ranging from 13.89 lakh to 14.96 lakh. The company announced that customer deliveries will begin on February 23, 2026. The electric SUV was unveiled in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
According to Mahindra, the top-end XUV 3XO EV variant could be priced on par with or even lower than the equivalent petrol model in several states after government incentives. Originally introduced in April 2024, the XUV 3XO has recorded cumulative sales of nearly 180,000 units, making it one of the fastest-growing models in its segment. The company expects the model to soon cross the 200,000-unit sales milestone.
Commenting on the launch, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “The XUV 3XO rewrote the rules by bringing aspiration and accessibility together at scale. With the XUV 3XO EV, we are extending that winning proposition into electric mobility for customers seeking a reliable EV that fits everyday life.”
The XUV 3XO EV is offered in two variants—AX5 EV and AX7L EV. Both are powered by a 39.4 kWh battery pack producing 110 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque, delivering a claimed real-world driving range of up to 285 km. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and features three drive modes: Fun, Fast and Fearless.
Priced at ₹13.89 lakh, the AX5 EV is expected to contribute the bulk of sales. It comes equipped with twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, LED projector headlamps, dual-zone climate control, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, wireless charging and keyless entry. Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear-view camera. It also gets Mahindra’s Adrenox connected car technology, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The range-topping AX7L EV, priced at ₹14.96 lakh, adds premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seats, soft-touch interior elements, a seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera and 65W USB-C fast charging. This variant is equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking and traffic sign recognition.
Both variants support fast charging, with the battery capable of charging from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger. Mahindra also offers an optional 7.2 kW home wall charger priced at ₹50,000. The SUV features frequency-dependent damping suspension for improved ride comfort and a turning radius of 10.6 metres for enhanced urban maneuverability.
Mahindra stated that the XUV 3XO EV has been designed primarily for urban users and daily intra-city commuting. The company emphasized that the electric version is an addition to its powertrain portfolio rather than a replacement for petrol and diesel models, as competition continues to intensify in India’s compact SUV and electric vehicle segments.
