Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has announced that it will introduce the all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA in India with two variants — CLA 200 “Standard Range” and CLA 250+ “Long Range.” The company said the decision to add a lower-priced variant was driven by customer feedback seeking a more accessible option. Bookings for both models have opened, with deliveries expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

The CLA 200 “Standard Range” is expected to carry an ex-showroom price of around ₹55 lakh, while the CLA 250+ “Long Range” is priced at approximately ₹59 lakh. However, the company noted that the final prices may change depending on prevailing foreign exchange rates at the time of the official launch. Customers can book either variant with a booking amount of ₹1.5 lakh.

In terms of range, the CLA 200 “Standard Range” offers a WLTP-certified range of about 542 km on a single charge. The CLA 250+ “Long Range” variant extends that figure to around 792 km. The Long Range model is built on an 800-volt architecture, enabling it to gain nearly 400 km of range in just 20 minutes using a 240 kW DC fast charger. The Standard Range variant supports up to 200 kW DC charging and can recover around 320 km of range in the same duration.

Mercedes-Benz confirmed that both variants will feature largely identical equipment levels, though their exterior styling will differ. The CLA 200 will come with the Progressive Line design, including comfort seats and a multifunction sports leather steering wheel. In contrast, the CLA 250+ will feature the sportier AMG Line styling.

To address charging concerns, the company highlighted its MB.CHARGE Public network, which currently includes more than 9,000 charging points across India. The vehicle’s MBUX Virtual Assistant can also help drivers plan routes with optimized charging stops during long journeys.

For home charging, customers can opt for a Mercedes-Benz wall box priced at around ₹50,000 including installation. The charger supports up to 22 kW charging and can be managed via the Mercedes me mobile app. Customers who pre-book the vehicle before launch will receive the wall box as a complimentary benefit.

According to the company, deliveries of the CLA 250+ “Long Range” will begin by the end of April 2026, while the CLA 200 “Standard Range” will follow in June 2026.

Interest in luxury electric vehicles has been steadily growing in India, and Mercedes-Benz has been actively expanding its EV portfolio in the country with models such as the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, Mercedes-Benz EQA, Mercedes-Benz EQB, and Mercedes-Benz EQE. The company also produces electric vehicles locally at its manufacturing facility in Chakan near Pune.

With the introduction of the CLA in two variants, Mercedes-Benz aims to cater to a wider price band within India’s premium electric vehicle segment.
