NSRCEL, the startup hub at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), and Maruti Suzuki India have launched the seventh cohort of their incubation programme for mobility startups. The six-month programme is designed for startups ranging from the early-revenue stage to the scale-up stage, with a focus on helping them develop their technologies and solutions and test them in real-world environments.
The programme will support startups working in vehicle technology, clean tech, mobility and mobility infrastructure, digital transformation across Industry 4.0 and 5.0, and green manufacturing. It will also include startups working in areas such as electric mobility and battery recycling.
Selected startups will receive incubation support from NSRCEL, along with opportunities for paid pilot projects with Maruti Suzuki. They will also get need-based mentoring from industry experts and access to industry and ecosystem connections. Winners will be eligible for a Maruti Suzuki car, international immersion opportunities and prize money.
The programme is aimed at startups looking to work with automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and demonstrate their technologies in real-world operating environments. The existing NSRCEL-Maruti Suzuki ecosystem includes startups working across artificial intelligence, manufacturing, accessibility, electric mobility and battery recycling.
NSRCEL CEO Rasika Prashant said the seventh cohort will provide startups with opportunities to engage with the mobility industry and develop solutions for real-world applications. The collaboration will also bring together entrepreneurs, domain experts, corporate stakeholders, investors and ecosystem partners to support innovation and commercial deployment in the mobility sector.
