Reliance Retail has significantly ramped up its presence in India's fast-growing quick commerce sector, with its hyper-local delivery service now operating in over 1,000 cities and covering more than 5,000 pin codes across the country.

According to the company’s latest earnings report, JioMart — Reliance’s e-commerce platform — is now supported by a robust network of over 3,000 physical retail stores. The platform is intensifying competition in the quick commerce space against key players such as Blinkit (owned by Zomato), Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket.

"JioMart continued to operate as the fastest-growing Quick Hyper-Local Commerce platform, with operations extending across 5,000 pin codes and serviced by over 3,000 stores in more than 1,000 cities," the company stated in its report.

In a strategic move to diversify offerings, Reliance Retail has also rolled out quick delivery services for electronics and accessories, promising delivery within 30 minutes in 10 major cities.

JioMart reported strong customer acquisition figures this quarter, adding 5.8 million new users — a 120% increase quarter-on-quarter. Additionally, the platform recorded a 42% quarter-on-quarter and over 200% year-on-year growth in average daily orders. Its seller base expanded by 20% year-on-year, and the live product catalogue was further broadened to offer greater variety to shoppers.

Reliance’s fashion e-commerce platform AJIO also saw steady growth in the September quarter. The brand reported a 35% year-on-year increase in its product catalogue, now offering over 2.7 million options. AJIO has also launched new brands and leveraged promotional events and the festive season to boost sales.

The developments underline Reliance's aggressive push into digital and quick commerce as it looks to dominate the evolving Indian retail landscape, spanning grocery, fashion, electronics, and beyond.
