Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) has launched the next-generation Tiago hatchback in India with Petrol, iCNG and Electric powertrain options. The new Tiago starts at ₹4.69 lakh, while the Tiago.ev is priced from ₹6.99 lakh under the full ownership model.
According to the company, the Next Gen Tiago has been completely redesigned with a refreshed exterior, premium interior, advanced connected technologies and enhanced safety features. The hatchback now comes equipped with features such as a 360-degree surround view system, blind view monitor and several digital convenience technologies that were previously limited to premium vehicle segments.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Passenger Electric Mobility, said the hatchback segment had long been underserved despite being the entry point to personal mobility for millions of Indian families. He stated that the Next Gen Tiago aims to democratise modern design, technology and safety features for mainstream customers.
Tata Motors has positioned the Tiago.ev as a financially smart EV for Indian buyers. The electric hatchback comes with an industry-first lifetime high-voltage battery warranty and supports fast charging that can add up to 100 kilometres of range in just 18 minutes. The company also claims that the lower running costs can help customers recover ownership costs within a few years of use.
The new Tiago.ev is available with multiple battery pack options and offers fast charging capability, automatic driving convenience and city-focused practicality. Tata Motors said the vehicle has been designed to make electric mobility more accessible and practical for everyday users.
On the safety front, the Tiago.ev features six airbags as standard, electronic stability systems and advanced safety technologies aimed at improving driver confidence and vehicle control. The company said the Next Gen Tiago range reflects its broader strategy of delivering safe, smart and aspirational mobility solutions for Indian consumers.
