UP Govt Plans 110 E-Buses for Jewar Airport Connectivity
The Uttar Pradesh government is accelerating preparations for Noida International Airport by deploying 110 electric buses and expanding EV charging infrastructure across the state.

 

The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified preparations ahead of the proposed operations of Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure the deployment of 110 electric buses in the initial phase to provide modern and seamless public transport connectivity for passengers travelling to and from the airport.

Chairing the fourth meeting of the State Transformation Commission on Wednesday, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of operating 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. He instructed officials to fully strengthen the public transport system before the proposed commencement of flight operations from June 15.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also emphasised the rapid expansion of EV charging infrastructure across the state. Officials informed that around 1.55 million electric vehicles are currently registered in Uttar Pradesh, while the state has set a target of developing 10,000 charging stations by 2030. So far, nearly 2,500 charging stations have already become operational.

Reviewing various expressway projects, Yogi Adityanath said improved connectivity would boost industrial development, investments and employment generation in the state. He directed officials to speed up land acquisition and exchange-related work. Officials informed that nearly 55 percent of the land required for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway has already been acquired.

The Chief Minister instructed that land acquisition for the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway and Jhansi Link Expressway should be completed by the end of June. Meanwhile, the alignment for the Meerut-Haridwar Expressway has been approved and the land acquisition action plan is currently being prepared.

Reviewing investment-related projects, the Chief Minister warned that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated. He directed officials to ensure speedy disposal of pending matters and maintain regular dialogue with investors. Officials informed that possession has been secured for 301 hectares out of the required 323 hectares for the Multi Modal Logistic Hub. The deadline for tender submissions for developer selection has been extended till July 6, 2026.

Similarly, 144 hectares out of the required 200 hectares for the Multi Modal Transport Hub have already been made available, while acquisition of the remaining land is underway. The Chief Minister also described model building byelaws for industrial development authorities as an important step toward creating an investment-friendly ecosystem and directed that approval procedures be simplified, transparent and time-bound.

Reviewing the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to ensure adequate human resources for effective implementation of schemes at the rural level. Officials informed that the selection process for 40 out of 136 vacant posts at the state level has been completed, while advertisements have been issued for the remaining posts. Recruitment for 360 vacant positions at district and block levels is also in progress.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the proposed Seed Park and Textile Park projects in Lucknow and directed that these projects be rapidly advanced by linking them with the state’s agricultural and industrial development goals. Officials informed that discussions had already been held with international institutions and major seed companies regarding the Seed Park project and consensus had been reached on further action.

While reviewing Defence Corridor projects, the Chief Minister said Uttar Pradesh should emerge as a leading state in defence manufacturing and assured all necessary support to investors. Officials informed that Icons Hindustan Aerospace and Defence Systems Private Limited has proposed an investment of Rs 125 crore in the Aligarh Defence Node. The proposal has already received recommendations from the Technical Evaluation Committee and Land Allotment Committee.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the proposed Agriculture Export Hub near Jewar International Airport and the Aqua Bridge project in Unnao. He stressed the need to develop modern processing and export facilities to connect agriculture and fisheries-based products with global markets. Officials informed that 29 acres out of the required 50 acres have already been identified for the Agri Export Hub, while 60 acres of land has been identified for the Aqua Bridge project in Unnao.

Reviewing the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana, Yogi Adityanath said government schemes should be made more effective to connect youth with self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. He also directed officials to prioritise the development of modern urban infrastructure under projects proposed through the Urban Challenge Fund in view of rapid urbanisation.

During the State Transformation Commission meeting, the Chief Minister directed that projects listed under ‘CM Samiksha’ should be treated with top priority. He also instructed officials to establish a dedicated monitoring cell in the Chief Minister’s Office for regular review and monitoring of these projects.
