Toprankers’ Growth Story: Expanding Its Education Business from Test Preparation to Career Counselling
At Growth Summit 2026, the company claimed to have crossed ₹100 crore in revenue while remaining profitable, highlighting its focus on expanding test preparation and career counselling across non-STEM fields such as Law, Management and Design.

Career options for students in the education sector are expanding beyond medicine and engineering. Alongside preparation for entrance examinations in Law, Management, Design, Architecture and other fields, career counselling is also becoming increasingly important. Operating in this market, Bhopal-based EdTech company Toprankers has built a network of education brands, moving beyond test preparation. Its business model focuses on bringing online and offline learning, examination preparation and career guidance together.

Five Founders Laid the Foundation of Toprankers

Toprankers was founded in 2016 by Gaurav Goel, Karan Mehta, Harsh Gagrani, Aditya Bose and Mahima Garg. Starting in Bhopal, the company focused on the needs of students exploring career options beyond medicine and engineering. Its objective has been to help students choose academic pathways aligned with their interests and abilities through entrance examination preparation and career guidance. Over time, Toprankers has expanded its brand portfolio across fields such as Law, Management, Design and Judiciary.

Expanding Beyond Test Preparation Across Multiple Fields

Toprankers’ key programmes focus on entrance examination preparation in areas such as Law, Judiciary, Management, Humanities and Design. Its courses include preparation for examinations such as CLAT, AILET, IPMAT, CUET and CAT, along with Architecture-related entrance examinations. The company therefore caters to students exploring academic and professional pathways beyond traditional STEM fields.

The company’s ‘House of Brands’ model is designed to address different educational needs. LegalEdge focuses on Law entrance examinations and legal education, while SuperGrads offers programmes for Management and other entrance examinations. Creative Edge specialises in preparation for Design and Architecture programmes, while Judiciary Gold caters to judicial services examinations. In addition, Toprankers focuses on career counselling through Toprankers Udaan.

₹100 Crore Revenue Claim, With an Emphasis on Profitability

According to a message shared following Toprankers’ Growth Summit 2026, the company claimed to have crossed ₹100 crore in revenue while remaining profitable. It attributed the achievement to years of hard work, business decisions, learning from setbacks and the commitment of its team.

The company also expressed its ambition to grow from ₹100 crore to ₹1,000 crore in revenue. It identified non-STEM education as a key opportunity for future growth. However, the ₹100 crore figure and the period to which it relates are based on the company’s claim. Confirmation is required before presenting it as an official FY2026 financial result.

Acquisitions as a Strategy for Business Expansion

Toprankers has also expanded its portfolio through acquisitions. According to available industry reports, the company has acquired ProBano Educational Services, The Lex Guru and Chinar Law Institute. These acquisitions have helped strengthen its presence in career guidance and Law and Judiciary examination preparation. The Lex Guru was subsequently introduced under the Judiciary Gold brand.

What Will Matter for Future Growth?

Toprankers is expanding in a market where students need more than examination preparation. They also require support in selecting the right courses, understanding admission processes and identifying suitable career options. Combining online resources with offline centres offers the company an opportunity to reach students across different regions.

Going forward, the company’s growth will depend on how effectively it strengthens educational quality, student outcomes, counselling services and the operations of its various brands. Alongside its revenue claims, transparent information on these aspects will be important in understanding its business model and long-term expansion strategy.
