upGrad, one of Asia’s leading integrated learning and skilling companies, has appointed Deepesh Dhakad as its new Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), effective October 2025. In his new role, Deepesh will lead upGrad’s product, design, and technology functions across both learner and enterprise segments, with a focus on driving innovation, scalability, and a world-class global user experience.
With nearly two decades of experience in product and technology leadership, Deepesh has worked with leading consumer tech giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, Unacademy, and most recently, Games24x7. His career spans building and scaling digital ecosystems that serve millions worldwide, driving data-led experimentation, and embedding AI-powered innovation to accelerate growth and engagement.
Commenting on his appointment, Deepesh said, “upGrad stands at an inflection point where technology is the engine of its next growth phase. Our goal is to build intelligent, AI-native systems that personalise learner journeys and deliver measurable results for individuals and enterprises alike. An alumnus of IIIT Allahabad and IIT Bombay’s Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, Deepesh will be based in Bengaluru, overseeing upGrad’s global product and technology roadmap.
