Two-wheeler manufacturer India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd on Tuesday announced the price of its first electric scooter, EC-06, at Rs 1,67,600 (ex-showroom Delhi), marking the company’s official entry into the electric mobility segment.
Launched on February 2, the EC-06 offers a certified range of 169 km on a single charge and will initially be sold through Yamaha’s premium Blue Square showrooms in select cities. The electric scooter is currently available in a Bluish White colour option.
According to the company, the introduction of EC-06 strengthens Yamaha’s commitment to carbon neutrality and aligns with Indian emission norms as well as the country’s vision for a greener, self-reliant future.
Commenting on the launch, Yamaha Motor India Group Chairman Hajime Aota said the EC-06 represents a significant step in Yamaha’s journey towards sustainable urban mobility. He added that as India moves rapidly towards a carbon-neutral future under the government’s leadership, Yamaha is proud to support this transition through high-quality electric innovation.
The company noted that the timing of the EC-06 launch coincides with the rapid development of India’s EV ecosystem, aided by initiatives such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the expansion of charging infrastructure.
