A New Phase of Yuva Sangam Begins: An Initiative to Connect Youth with India’s Culture and Traditions
The Ministry of Education has started online registrations for the sixth phase of the Yuva Sangam programme. This initiative is being conducted under the 'Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'campaign.

The ministry has appealed to youth across the country to actively participate so that they can closely understand India’s diverse culture and traditions.

An Initiative to Connect the Youth of the Nation

Yuva Sangam is a programme that gives young people from one state the opportunity to visit another state. During the visit, they can closely observe the state’s culture, cuisine, lifestyle, development work and education system. The aim is to help young people from different parts of the country understand each other and build stronger bonds, thereby strengthening the spirit of unity in diversity.

An Opportunity for Youth Aged 18 to 30

Young people between 18 and 30 years of age can apply for this programme. Whether you are a college student, associated with NSS (National Service Scheme) or Nehru Yuva Kendra, or a young professional, everyone is eligible to participate. Interested candidates can apply online through the official portal.

Growing Enthusiasm Among Youth

In the previous, fifth phase, more than 46,000 registrations were recorded, showing strong enthusiasm among young people for the programme. Since its pilot launch in 2022, more than 6,000 youth have visited different states under this initiative and returned with new experiences and insights.

22 Institutions Selected as Nodal Centres

According to the Ministry of Education, 22 major higher education institutions across the country have been selected as nodal institutions for this phase. The selected participants will be sent on 5 to 7 day educational and cultural visits to their paired states, where they will get the chance to understand the unique characteristics of those regions.

An Opportunity to Learn from Tourism to Technology

During the visit, participants will explore historical sites, interact with local communities, understand development projects and also visit technical institutions. This will help them gain deeper insights into the lifestyle and development models of different states.

Programme Based on Five Key Themes

The entire programme is based on five key themes tourism, tradition, progress, interpersonal connections and technology. The aim is not just to provide a travel experience, but to help young people understand the real picture of the state, including its culture and development.

An Opportunity to Know India Closely

In this way, Yuva Sangam is not merely a trip or tour, but a unique opportunity to experience and understand the country more closely. For young people who want to explore India, connect with new people and experience different cultures, this programme can be a valuable opportunity.
