Adobe’s Big Announcement: Students in India to Get Firefly, Photoshop and Acrobat Tools for Free
During the India AI Impact Summit 2026, technology companies and industry experts discussed the growing impact of AI in education, healthcare, governance, content security & digital infrastructure.

The summit’s chief guest, Shantanu Narayen, Chairman and CEO of Adobe, said the company is working to create new creative opportunities for millions of students in India and empower them with AI skills. He added that this initiative will help advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Developed India.”

At the event held at Bharat Mandapam, he highlighted that AI’s role is continuously expanding in education, telecommunications, healthcare and digital infrastructure. He said he is excited to see what Indian students will create using Adobe’s tools.

Adobe announced that it will provide its key tools Adobe Firefly, Photoshop and Acrobat free of cost to students at recognized higher education institutions in India. This will help students prepare for AI-driven careers. In addition, they will receive training, coursework and certifications to enhance their career prospects after graduation.

While learning AI, students will have access to Adobe’s commercially safe generative AI models. They will also be able to work with other AI models.

Adobe Firefly is an all-in-one creative AI studio that includes partner models from Google, OpenAI, and Runway, giving students flexibility to work according to their needs. Acrobat Pro will enable students to easily edit text and images and collaborate more effectively.

This initiative supports the government’s “Create in India” campaign and the Union Budget 2026 goal of generating 2 million jobs in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector by 2030.

In partnership with the government, Adobe will offer its AI-based courses and industry-supported curriculum free of cost to 15,000 schools and 500 colleges. Content Creator Labs will also be set up in these institutions to provide practical training to students.
