alfanar group has announced an additional direct capital funding of USD 100 million (INR 950 crore) in Senvion. The first tranche of USD 34 million (INR 320 crore) was received in August 2026 with the remaining amount to be completed within a couple of weeks.
The funding will support Senvion’s long-term product roadmap, growth capital for its business in India and global markets and the expansion of its project pipeline through the ‘Senvion Certified Sites’ offering.
“This funding strengthens the foundations of our business where it matters most,” said Shreyas B. Suvarna, CEO, Senvion. “We will deepen our R&D capabilities to deliver more reliable and higher-performing turbine platforms and enhance our ability to support customers throughout the 25-year lifecycle of their assets. Our objective is clear: to build globally competitive technology platforms from India and become the partner of choice for customers, employees and stakeholders across India and international markets.”
The investment reinforces alfanar group’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative and its view of India as a hub for renewable energy manufacturing and technology development.
“India is central to alfanar group’s renewable energy strategy and Senvion is a key part of our long-term vision for wind energy,” said Jamal Wadi, Chairman of Senvion and President of Alfanar Projects. “By combining Senvion’s wind engineering expertise with alfanar group’s strengths in power systems, grid infrastructure and energy storage, we are well positioned to develop the next generation of integrated renewable energy solutions.”
