Amaron, the automotive battery brand of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, has launched its new True 4Ah battery for India’s 100cc-125cc commuter motorcycle segment. According to the company, the battery delivers a true 4Ah output when tested under the JIS D5302 standard. The product has been introduced under Amaron’s new campaign, “Modern Bikes Ki True Power.”
According to Amaron, modern commuter motorcycles are increasingly equipped with features such as LED lighting, TFT instrument clusters, USB charging ports and idle start-stop systems. These features have increased the electrical requirements of motorcycles. The new True 4Ah battery has been designed to support the higher power demands of feature-rich commuter bikes and provide reliable starting power for everyday riding.
The company said the new battery aims to address the gap between claimed and actual battery capacity. Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan, Chief Business Officer – Automotive and Home Energy Business (India & SAARC), Amara Raja Energy & Mobility, said modern commuter motorcycles are adopting features such as LED lighting, TFT clusters, USB charging and start-stop systems, resulting in higher electrical loads on the battery.
The new True 4Ah battery comes with a 48-month pro-rata warranty. Amaron will initially roll out the product across eight markets Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Jaipur. Through the new product, the company aims to address the battery requirements of modern, feature-rich motorcycles in the growing 100cc-125cc commuter segment.
