AMU, an emerging player in electric vehicle financing, plans to increase its EV financing Assets Under Management (AUM) to ₹400 crore by March 2027. The company aims to further scale its AUM to ₹600 crore by March 2028, as it looks to benefit from the growing adoption of electric commercial vehicles across key markets in India.
The company expects its EV financing business to deliver 35–40% growth in disbursements. Electric commercial vehicles currently account for 100% of AMU's EV financing portfolio, highlighting its strategic focus on supporting electrification in the commercial mobility segment.
AMU EV financing portfolio has recorded a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of around 38%. The company expects demand for commercial EV financing to remain stable as fleet operators, individual entrepreneurs and last-mile mobility providers increasingly consider electric vehicles due to their lower operating costs and potential for improved operating economics.
AMU currently operates across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar and Haryana. Its financing portfolio focuses on electric commercial vehicles used for passenger and cargo mobility. These markets are emerging as important opportunities for EV financing as the adoption of electric commercial mobility continues to expand.
“Electric commercial mobility is moving from an emerging opportunity to an increasingly mainstream segment. Our strategy is to build a focused financing franchise that addresses the specific needs of commercial EV customers,” said Nehal Gupta, CEO, AMU.
With its 400 crore AUM target for March 2027 and 600 crore target for March 2028, AMU aims to strengthen its position in India's evolving EV financing ecosystem. The company also plans to expand access to financing for customers adopting electric vehicles for commercial and last-mile mobility applications.
