Ather Energy Limited has introduced its family-focused electric scooter, Rizta, in Sri Lanka at the Colombo Motor Show 2025. This marks the company’s entry into its second international market. Ather first entered Sri Lanka in December 2024 with the 450X model and has since established 40 experience centers across the country along with Ather Grid fast-charging stations.
The Rizta has been launched in collaboration with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd, Ather’s official distribution partner in Sri Lanka. According to Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, Sri Lanka is emerging as a rapidly growing market for the company. Already available in India for over a year and recently launched in Nepal, the Rizta has been tailored to meet the safety and connectivity needs of Sri Lankan riders.
Designed specifically for families, the Rizta features a spacious 34-liter under-seat storage compartment and a wide floorboard. The scooter is equipped with SkidControl technology for enhanced safety. The premium Rizta Z variant comes with a 7-inch TFT display offering Google Maps navigation, music, and call controls.
Ather began its international expansion in November 2023 with its entry into Nepal, where it currently operates 9 experience centers and 7 service centers. As of September 30, 2025, the company has 524 experience centers and 3,643 fast-charging stations in India.
Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy now offers nine models across two product lines the performance-driven Ather 450 series and the family-oriented Rizta series. The company has installed 4,322 fast chargers globally, including 4,282 in India and 40 across Nepal and Sri Lanka.
