Education in Ireland, the national brand promoting Ireland’s higher education sector, has launched its India Education Fairs in New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by H.E. Kevin Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland to India, at the Shangri-La Eros New Delhi. Representatives and academics from 17 leading Irish universities and colleges participated in the event.
The education fair provided students and parents with an opportunity to directly engage with Irish institutions and explore higher education options. Students received information on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across technology, healthcare, sustainability, business and finance, arts and humanities, and emerging sectors. The event also covered scholarships, research opportunities, industry trends and student life in Ireland.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Kevin Kelly said India and Ireland share a long-standing partnership built around education, talent and ideas. He added that Indian students have become an important part of Irish campuses, while the fair provides students with an opportunity to explore programmes, scholarships and career opportunities available in Ireland.
The fair also featured a special bilateral dialogue on Transnational Education (TNE) aimed at strengthening higher education collaboration between India and Ireland. Representatives from the international offices of 11 leading Indian universities participated in the discussion, including Ashoka University, Shiv Nadar University, SRM University Sonipat and Delhi University. The dialogue focused on international collaboration, partnership models and ways to strengthen institutional capacity and student outcomes.
An official from the Irish Visa Office also conducted a dedicated seminar on the student visa process. The session provided students, parents and education agents with information on required documents, application timelines and financial planning. Participants also had the opportunity to directly raise their questions with the visa team.
Elizabeth McHenry, Regional Manager – Asia & MENA, Education in Ireland, said the organisation was pleased to begin its India Education Fairs in New Delhi. She added that bringing 17 Irish institutions and visa experts together under one roof would provide students and families with direct access to information needed to make informed higher education decisions.
The New Delhi event is the first leg of a five-city India Education Fairs series. The series will next travel to Pune, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru in October. The fairs aim to provide students planning to study and live in Ireland with trusted and transparent information about higher education opportunities.
