The Green Energy Centre of Excellence launched in Bhuj, Gujarat, will prepare students for careers in the renewable energy sector by providing training in solar, wind, energy storage and digital technologies.

Adani Skills & Education (ASE) and Kachchh University have launched a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Green Energy at the university campus in Bhuj, Gujarat. The centre aims to provide students with industry-linked skills and practical learning aligned with the growing requirements of the renewable energy sector.

The centre will provide specialised training to more than 10,000 Kachchh University students every year. The programmes will cover areas including Solar PV Technologies, Wind Energy Systems, Hybrid Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Digital & Industrial Automation. It will also promote applied research and entrepreneurship in green energy.

Students to Receive Industry-Linked Skill Training

According to Adani, its Green Energy activities in Kutch district have generated more than 21,000 direct and indirect jobs over the past two years. This has increased the demand for trained youth to build, operate and maintain renewable energy infrastructure. The new CoE will focus on preparing students for diverse roles across the renewable energy value chain.

The facility was inaugurated by the Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat. The centre will go beyond classroom-based learning by providing students with opportunities to develop technical understanding through simulation-based and practical experiences. This could help reduce the gap between education and employment.

Karan Adani, Director, Adani Group, said that Green Energy is an important sector shaping India’s future. According to him, the Centre of Excellence will prepare students not only for existing jobs but also for emerging opportunities in India and across the world.

Robin Bhowmik, CEO, Adani Skills & Education, said that the renewable energy industry is growing rapidly, but the specialised workforce required to support it is not developing at the same pace. Through the partnership with Kachchh University, the initiative will bring industry requirements into the classroom and provide students with practical exposure to relevant technologies.

New Talent to be Prepared for the Green Energy Sector

India is rapidly expanding its renewable energy capacity. As of July 31, 2026, the country’s installed non-fossil fuel-based power capacity had reached 300.50 GW, more than 60% of the 500 GW target set for 2030. This is expected to increase demand for professionals with skills in solar, wind, energy storage and related digital technologies.

This demand is particularly significant in Kutch. At Khavda, Adani Group is developing a 30 GW renewable energy project spread across 538 sq km. The large-scale project is creating new career opportunities for trained youth in solar, wind, energy storage and digital technologies.

Practical Learning to Strengthen the Path from Education to Careers

The CoE will offer training through a Learn, Practise, Experience, Certify and Career pathway. Students will be introduced to Solar PV, Wind Energy, Renewable Integration, BESS, Microgrids, SCADA, IoT-based Energy Data and Smart-Grid Technologies. The initiative aims to connect students with research, entrepreneurship and industry-led real-world experience, helping prepare them for careers in the Green Energy sector closer to home in Kutch.
