Emobi to Launch AKX with Musashi e-Axle Technology

Emobi has announced that its upcoming electric two-wheeler model, AKX, will be powered by the e-Axle EV drive unit developed by Japan-based mobility technology company Musashi Seimitsu Industry. The Bengaluru-based EV startup said AKX will become its second model to feature Musashi’s e-Axle technology after the launch of the Kyari electric scooter in November 2025.

Bharath Rao, CEO and Cofounder, Emobi, said the AKX has been developed keeping in mind the requirements of India’s rapidly growing electric mobility market. According to him, the integration of Musashi’s e-Axle technology will enhance the vehicle’s acceleration, torque, and overall riding experience, while maintaining efficiency and reliability.

The company stated that Musashi’s e-Axle technology has been specifically designed for electric two-wheelers by integrating the motor, inverter, and gearbox into a compact drive unit. The technology is expected to deliver smoother acceleration, improved pick-up torque, and low-noise performance, while ensuring better energy efficiency.

Musashi further said that the e-Axle uses its proprietary reduction gear technology, developed from the company’s extensive experience in two-wheeler transmission systems. Through this innovation, the company aims to provide electric two-wheelers with acceleration and torque performance comparable to internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles.
