Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) has crossed the milestone of 8 lakh cumulative connected car sales in India and is targeting 1 million connected car sales by 2027. According to the company, connected vehicle penetration across its portfolio has increased from 4% in 2019 to 20% in 2026. Hyundai introduced its Bluelink connected car technology in India with the Venue in 2019 and has since expanded the technology across models including the Creta, Venue and i20.

The company is also targeting more than 2 million cumulative connected car sales by 2030. Hyundai’s connected vehicle strategy is focused on the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Its Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) technology, introduced in 2025, includes controller over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities, allowing vehicle software to be updated remotely.

Hyundai Bluelink currently offers more than 70 features covering safety, security and convenience. These include remote vehicle monitoring, vehicle health diagnostics, location tracking, trip history, remote commands, Hyundai Pay, Digital Key, Digital Passport and Remote Immobilizer. The system also supports more than 450 AI-powered voice commands across five languages. According to HMIL, Bluelink’s SOS and roadside assistance services have supported more than 500,000 motorists, while the technology has also assisted with around 15,000 crash notification interventions.

Hyundai upcoming mass-market electric SUV will feature next-generation connected car technology as standard across all variants. The company views this as part of its strategy to integrate connected technology with its growing electric vehicle portfolio. Tarun Garg, MD and CEO, Hyundai Motor India, said the company remains focused on advancing software-defined mobility and expanding connected technologies across its portfolio as it works towards its target of 1 million connected car sales by 2027.
