Electric intercity bus operator NueGo has expanded its network in India by launching seven new electric intercity bus routes, taking its overall network to more than 150 cities. According to the company, the expansion is aimed at improving connectivity across key business, tourism and pilgrimage corridors.
The newly launched routes include Chennai–Tirupati, Hyderabad–Guntur, Mussoorie–Delhi, Mussoorie–Gurugram, Gurugram–Haldwani, Coimbatore–Madurai and Tirupati–Puducherry. NueGo said these services will strengthen links between regional economic hubs and major tourist and religious destinations while expanding access to sustainable intercity electric mobility.
The company said the latest additions are part of its broader network expansion strategy. As demand for electric mobility continues to grow, electric bus operators are increasingly expanding beyond metro-to-metro services into high-demand regional routes.
Devendra Chawla, Managing Director and CEO of GreenCell Mobility, said, "The addition of several new intercity routes aligns with our mission of transforming bus travel in India through sustainable, technology-enabled mobility solutions. With our continued route development, we remain focused on expanding connectivity across the country."
On the safety front, NueGo said each electric bus undergoes 25 safety checks before every departure. The buses are equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), CCTV surveillance, GPS tracking, Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), breath analyser tests for drivers and speed limiters capped at 80 kmph. The company also offers Pink Seat bookings and a dedicated helpline to enhance safety and convenience for women passengers.
