According to JSW MG Motor India, the MG Windsor has emerged as India’s best-selling electric vehicle in 2025. Announcing the milestone in Gurugram, the company said it sold 46,735 units of the Windsor during the calendar year 2025, with average monthly sales of around 4,000 units. The company noted that this is the first time a single electric model has achieved such volumes in India’s passenger vehicle EV segment.
In 2025, MG Windsor’s EV sales grew by 111 percent, while JSW MG Motor India’s overall vehicle sales increased by 19 percent. Notably, Windsor sales in the fourth quarter of 2025 rose by over 20 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
Commenting on the achievement, JSW MG Motor India Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra said, “The Windsor represents a modern automotive innovation that has redefined the EV segment through its practicality, advanced technology, and futuristic design.”
The MG Windsor is positioned as India’s first “Intelligent CUV,” blending design elements of sedans and SUVs. It is offered under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing model, starting at ₹9.99 lakh, with an additional ₹3.90 per kilometre charged for battery usage.
The model is available with two battery options—a 38 kWh battery pack offering a range of 332 km, and a 52.9 kWh battery pack delivering a range of up to 449 km. According to the company, demand for electric vehicles is no longer limited to major metropolitan areas and is steadily growing in tier-two cities and emerging markets.
JSW MG Motor India was formed in 2023 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor, a Fortune 500 company, and the JSW Group. The company operates a manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity of over 100,000 vehicles.
