Global investment firm KKR will acquire a minority stake in Indian ticketing and live entertainment platform BookMyShow. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, while financial details were not disclosed.
Founded in 2007, BookMyShow operates across movies, live entertainment and experiences. Its live entertainment division, BookMyShow Live, covers talent and intellectual property acquisition, production, promotion, partnerships and audience development.

The investment will support BookMyShow’s live entertainment business and expansion of its full-stack offering across India.

Avendus Capital was the exclusive financial advisor to BookMyShow, while Trilegal acted as its legal advisor. The investment adds BookMyShow to KKR’s global media and entertainment portfolio, which includes Internet Brands, ByteDance, Epic Games, Superstruct and Simon & Schuster.
