Wipro Consumer Care acquires 60% stake in Dermatouch for INR 387.5 crore, marking its entry into digital-first skincare.

Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting has acquired a 60% stake in skincare brand Dermatouch for INR 387.5 crore. The transaction marks Wipro Consumer Care’s entry into the digital-first skincare segment. The acquisition will add the brand to Wipro Consumer Care’s personal care portfolio.

“Wipro’s legacy of trust, consumer-first philosophy and decades of experience in building and scaling successful brands across global markets makes it an ideal partner for our next phase of growth. Its extensive distribution network and deep research capabilities will enable us to take Dermatouch to newer heights and make it a truly global brand,” said the founders of Dermatouch.

The deal will give Wipro Consumer Care a majority stake in Dermatouch, while the existing promoters will continue to hold the remaining shares.

“Dermatouch represents an exciting opportunity for us as our first foray into digital brands. We have been clear that we would only look at digital brands that have the potential to expand offline, which Dermatouch has already proven,” said Kumar Chander, CEO, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting and MD, Wipro Enterprises.

Wipro Consumer Care has been expanding its presence in the consumer and personal care segments through acquisitions and investments. Its portfolio includes brands across personal care, home care and skincare.

The acquisition is part of Wipro Consumer Care’s strategy to expand its presence in premium and specialised skincare products.
