Škoda Auto has announced that its much-anticipated all-electric seven-seater flagship will be called Peaq, underlining a major milestone in the Czech carmaker’s electric vehicle strategy. The name signifies the model’s position at the top of Škoda’s lineup and serves as a “clear statement” about its flagship status within the brand’s portfolio.
Explaining the naming decision, Martin Jahn, Škoda Auto’s Board Member for Sales and Marketing, said the Peaq brings to life the brand’s Vision 7S concept, first revealed in spring 2022 along with Škoda’s Modern Solid design language. The concept outlined Škoda’s future direction with a strong focus on sustainability, functional design, and advanced technology.
The production version of the Peaq stays true to this vision while reinforcing Škoda’s core brand values of spaciousness, practicality, and comfort. Designed for modern families and everyday explorers, the seven-seater will feature Škoda’s signature Simply Clever solutions and aims to offer a versatile vehicle suited for work, leisure, and long-distance travel.
The Peaq marks another step in Škoda’s broader electric model expansion. The automaker currently offers 12 passenger car model ranges globally and delivered over 926,000 vehicles worldwide in 2024. As part of the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group CORE, Škoda is targeting a position among the top three best-selling brands in Europe by the end of the decade, supported by a diverse portfolio of battery electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine vehicles.
The world premiere of the Škoda Peaq is scheduled for summer 2026, with details on specifications, pricing, and market availability to be revealed closer to launch.
