Mahindra to Set Up 1,000+ EV Charging Points by 2027
Mahindra has announced plans to install 250 EV charging stations with 180 kW fast chargers by 2027, creating over 1,000 charging points under its Charge_IN network.

Mahindra has taken a significant step toward strengthening India’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure by announcing plans to establish 250 charging stations equipped with 180 kW chargers by the end of 2027. Under this initiative, more than 1,000 charging points will be created as part of the company’s ‘Charge_IN’ network.

The company has inaugurated its first two Charge_IN stations—one at Hoskote on the Bengaluru-Chennai highway (NH 75) and the other at Murthal on NH 44, located about 50 kilometers from Delhi. Each station is equipped with two ultra-fast chargers capable of charging four electric vehicles simultaneously.

The charging network will exclusively use 180 kW dual-gun chargers designed specifically for electric four-wheelers. According to the company, these chargers can power Mahindra’s eSUV lineup from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, stated that the initiative aims to provide accessible charging solutions for all EV users while building confidence in long-distance electric travel.

The charging stations will be positioned along major highway corridors and integrated with amenities such as restaurants and cafés. Mahindra eSUV owners will be able to use the Me4U app to access the network, while owners of other EV brands can charge through the Charge_IN by Mahindra app or third-party aggregator platforms.

Currently, Mahindra customers can access around 34,000 public charging points from various operators through the Me4U app, including the newly launched Charge_IN network.

Mahindra’s expansion strategy aligns with government initiatives aimed at strengthening public EV charging infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles in India.
