Ahmedabad-based MATTER has announced a partnership with Denver-headquartered Iontra Inc. to integrate Iontra’s battery intelligence and adaptive charging technology into its AI-Defined Vehicle (AIDV) platform. The companies describe this initiative as a first-of-its-kind step from India toward AI-driven energy management in electric mobility.
The integration enables real-time monitoring of battery State of Health (SOH) and dynamically adjusts charging behavior, improving battery performance and lifespan. Unlike conventional EVs that rely on fixed charging profiles, the system responds to actual battery conditions, helping reduce thermal stress and degradation.
MATTER’s existing Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) platform already offers battery protection and monitoring, but the addition of Iontra’s technology advances it toward “AI-defined energy behavior,” where batteries act as intelligent, self-aware systems. This is expected to deliver faster and safer charging, better performance, and longer battery life without requiring additional hardware.
The partnership is currently in the validation and integration phase, with plans to expand the AIDV platform across multiple two-wheeler segments in the near future, making battery intelligence a core component of MATTER’s EV strategy.
