The aim of this initiative is to link youth with emerging technologies and provide them with better employment opportunities.
Advanced Training for 600 Youth
Under this program, around 600 minority youth from Bihar will be trained in rapidly growing fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), technocrat skills and business analytics. This will help prepare them according to modern industry requirements.
This initiative will be implemented under the PM VIKAS Yojna (Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan Yojna). The main objective of this scheme is to prepare youth for employment, strengthen their skills and make them self-reliant.
IIT Patna to Provide Industry-Ready Skills
As per the agreement, Indian Institute of Technology Patna will provide industry-relevant skills to the youth, improving their employability and enhancing their placement opportunities. The training will also focus on practical learning, project work and industry exposure to ensure real-world readiness.
On this occasion, Director Neha Giri and T. N. Singh, along with several senior officials, were present. They described the initiative as significant for the future of youth.
Focus on Reducing Skill Gap
The government believes this step will help reduce the skill gap in the country and promote self-reliance among youth. It will also strengthen the vision of Digital India by enabling more young people to engage with modern technologies.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Minority Affairs has previously signed similar agreements with Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad, National Institute of Technology Manipur and other institutions to provide high-quality skill training across the country.
Target to Train 1.51 Lakh Youth
Under the PM VIKAS Yojna, a target has been set to train around 151,000 youth. The goal is to strengthen the socio-economic empowerment of minority communities.
Overall, this initiative is considered a significant step toward preparing youth for the future job market by connecting them with new technologies. Through this program, they will gain not only an understanding of AI, data analytics and digital tools but also practical training, project-based learning and industry exposure, helping them become job-ready.
Additionally, the initiative will boost confidence among youth, enhance their employability and encourage them to explore opportunities such as startups, freelancing or entrepreneurship. It will also play a key role in bridging the digital divide and integrating rural and semi-urban youth into the mainstream, ultimately making them more self-reliant.
