The Hena Happiness Foundation is a goal-oriented organization aiming to uplift the tribal and rural areas through educating and training young girls and women. The organization focuses on four key pillars: empowering women leaders, preparing children for the future, creating aspirational villages, and assisting artisans in making a living because it firmly believes that India's progress depends on the development of its villages.
Further explaining about the program, Tarun Anand, the Founder & Chancellor of Universal Ai University, said, "Through the AI Sakhi program, we are taking a meaningful step towards democratizing access to advanced technologies, to Transform Gramin Bharat Through AI. Our objective is to underprivileged equip young girls and women with practical skills in emerging digital tools, enabling them to build confidence, enhance their digital skills and become more self-reliant. We believe that empowering women with technology-driven knowledge will not only create new opportunities for them but also contribute to the broader goal of sustainable community development."
As part of the ‘AI Sakhi’ program, efforts have been made to make digitalization and artificial intelligence simple to comprehend and embrace. The objective is to empower rural women and girls so that they can utilize the digitalization technologies efficiently and confidently, so as to gain knowledge and earn a livelihood out of it.
This initiative aims to offer a comprehensive course that takes place over a period of six months, whereby about 100 to 500 women and girls will be trained and mentored during the early stages of the process. This way, the digital divide can be addressed so as to enable the beneficiaries to get employment opportunities.
With the success achieved throughout, the idea is to develop a powerful base of ‘AI Sakhis’ who would act as agents of knowledge dissemination and promote socio-economic empowerment of many other women in various semi-urban and rural areas.
The program was supported by Heena Designs and Arti Sandeep Bhoir. True to its objectives, the foundation continues with its commitment to creating opportunities for young girls and women.
