Montra Electric has dispatched the first batch of 65 heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles (e-HCVs) from its manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. The delivery marks the first phase of a larger order for 260 electric trucks, which will be deployed across key industrial freight corridors in India.
According to the company, the rollout represents a significant step from limited pilot projects to large-scale commercial fleet electrification. The first batch includes the Rhino 5538 EV model, which will be used to support logistics operations in the mining, cement, steel and construction materials sectors.
Montra Electric said the remaining 195 electric trucks under the order will be delivered in phases over the coming months.
The heavy-duty electric trucks are equipped with advanced electric powertrains and integrated telematics systems, enabling high operational uptime, improved efficiency and reliable performance during long-haul freight operations.
Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director of Montra Electric, said the corporate logistics sector in India is steadily moving toward the structural adoption of electric vehicles. He added that electric commercial vehicles will play a crucial role in reducing distribution costs, improving operational efficiency and building a more sustainable freight transportation ecosystem.
