The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), located in New Delhi, has launched a new ‘Industry Membership Programme’ to strengthen collaboration between the industry and education sectors. This is a structured and paid engagement model aimed at building long-term and strategic partnerships between companies and the institute. According to education experts, this initiative is being seen as an important step toward connecting students, researchers and the corporate sector on a common platform.
This programme will be managed by IIT Delhi’s Corporate Relations Office. It has been designed to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and encourage deeper faculty engagement with corporate partners. Under the programme, thematic research, innovation projects and industry-led research activities will be promoted. Companies will also receive access to IIT Delhi’s research labs, faculty expertise and other institutional facilities. Through this programme, companies and professionals will get access to customised training programmes and library resources. In addition, member organisations will receive early access to patents, technologies and research outputs. Under the Industry Membership Programme, three categories of membership have been introducedThe Silver Membership is priced at ₹10 lakh per year, the Gold Membership at ₹20 lakh per year and the Platinum Membership at ₹50 lakh per year. Through these memberships, companies will be able to collaborate with IIT Delhi in research, innovation, talent development and institutional initiatives.
Key Features of the Programme
The programme includes several special features such as dedicated relationship management, long-term collaboration opportunities, joint research projects and special access to faculty members and research laboratories. In addition, curated industry engagement platforms such as CXO roundtables, leadership forums and CSR conclaves will also be organised.
