The NX Group (Nippon Express Group) and the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at SEMICON India 2026, establishing a framework for logistics collaboration to support India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The signing ceremony took place on September 18, attended by ISM CEO Amitesh Kumar Sinha and Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania CEO Katsuhito Kobayashi.
The MoU provides a platform for information sharing on semiconductor logistics requirements, infrastructure and supply chain resilience, as India works to build a domestic ecosystem connecting manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers and global markets. At the event, NX Group showcased its end-to-end logistics solutions, covering air and ocean freight, customs clearance, warehousing, domestic transportation, factory delivery, installation support and outbound logistics, in support of the government’s Semicon 2.0 initiative.
NX Group views India as a strategic growth hub under its Indian Ocean Rim Strategy, spanning the Middle East and East, West and Southern Africa. The company has established an Indian Ocean Rim Strategy Office in Mumbai and is targeting JPY 80 billion (approximately $500 million) in revenue across the region by FY2028.
“The NX Group differentiates itself by providing end-to-end logistics solutions that look beyond mere transportation to encompass the entire supply chain, while supporting from a logistics perspective the establishment of India’s semiconductor ecosystem aimed at by ‘Semicon 2.0,’ promoted by Prime Minister Modi,” said Katsuhito Kobayashi, Executive Officer and CEO, South Asia & Oceania Region, Nippon Express.
