Olectra Greentech Limited, through its subsidiary Evey Trans Private Limited, has received a contract from Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) for the supply, operation, and maintenance of 1,085 electric buses for intra-city services in Telangana. The contract is valued at approximately 1,800 crore.
The order includes 1,025 twelve-metre non-AC buses and 60 twelve-metre AC buses. It will be executed under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) / OPEX model for a period of 12 years, under which the operator is paid a fixed rate per kilometre while the transport authority retains control over routes and fares.
Under the agreement, Evey Trans will procure the buses from Olectra, which will also handle maintenance throughout the contract period. Deliveries will be completed in phases over 20 months, alongside the development of charging infrastructure and depot readiness.
The company stated that the transaction qualifies as a related-party arrangement but will be conducted on an arm’s length basis. The project highlights the growing scale of urban electric bus deployments in India.
