US-based quick-service restaurant chain Popeyes has opened a new outlet at Elante Mall in Chandigarh, further strengthening its presence in the Punjab Tricity region. The launch marks the brand’s fifth restaurant across Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.
The latest opening is part of Popeyes’ focused expansion strategy in North India, with Punjab Tricity emerging as a key growth market driven by rising demand for international QSR brands. The company said the new location was chosen for its high footfall and strategic retail visibility.
The Elante Mall restaurant will serve Popeyes’ signature Louisiana-style Cajun menu, including its popular Chicken Sandwich, Signature Fried Chicken, Boneless Chicken with International Flavours, Hot & Messy range, Flavour Burst Burgers, and a variety of vegetarian options tailored for Indian consumers. The brand follows a preparation process in which fresh chicken cuts are marinated for 12 hours and hand-battered and breaded to deliver its distinctive crunch.
Gaurav Pande, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Popeyes India, said Punjab continues to be a priority market due to strong consumer acceptance of global food brands and bold flavour profiles. He added that the consistent response across the Tricity region has encouraged the company to expand further in the area.
To deepen its regional connect, Popeyes has also collaborated with Punjabi singer and actor Jassie Gill on a digital-led campaign aimed at engaging local audiences.
Popeyes is operated in India by Jubilant FoodWorks Limited and continues to expand its footprint across key cities, focusing on high-visibility locations and brand-led growth.
