PhysicsWallah School of Startups (PW SoS), the entrepreneurship arm of education company PhysicsWallah has partnered with Startup India under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to accelerate 25,000 early-stage startups across India.
The two-year partnership aims to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship, deep-tech innovation and venture incubation with a focus on Tier-II and Tier-III cities and rural areas. The initiative will provide aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs with access to structured training, mentorship, incubation infrastructure, investors and seed funding.
The collaboration seeks to address challenges faced by founders outside major startup hubs by helping them develop business ideas, build products and prepare their ventures for growth.
Multiple Programmes to Support Founders at Different Stages
PW School of Startups will introduce programmes tailored to entrepreneurs at different stages of their business journeys. PW UDYAMI will offer a 90-day live online training programme, followed by one year of mentorship, to support entrepreneurs from smaller towns and rural areas.
Aarambh Immersion, a five-day residential programme, will focus on prototype development, pitch preparation and networking. The programme is designed to help aspiring founders refine their ideas, develop initial products and connect with relevant stakeholders.
For startups preparing to scale, the Growth Stage CEO Program will support 200 DPIIT-recognised startups through four hybrid cohorts, helping founders prepare for growth-stage funding and business expansion.
Deep-Tech Acceleration, Seed Funding and Incubation Support
The six-month PW DeepTech Accelerator will provide selected high-potential ventures with support for growth and funding. Early-stage innovators will also have opportunities to access proof-of-concept development, corporate pilot projects and seed investment through the annual National AI Startup Challenge & SeedX.
Additionally, entrepreneurs will be able to access incubation facilities and seed grants through the StartinUP Business Incubation Centre, hosted by PW School of Startups and approved by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Together, these initiatives aim to help founders move from the early stages of business development towards product validation, market readiness and sustainable growth.
DPIIT Highlights the Importance of Grassroots Entrepreneurship
Commenting on the partnership, Ateesh Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said, “Supporting entrepreneurs beyond Tier-I cities is key to building a stronger startup ecosystem in India. Our partnership with PhysicsWallah School of Startups will help grassroots innovators access the resources, mentorship and infrastructure they need to turn their ideas into scalable, job-creating businesses across Bharat.”
Rounaq Mustafa, Head of PW School of Startups, said the collaboration aims to make entrepreneurial knowledge, mentorship and funding more accessible to aspiring founders across the country.
“True empowerment means making knowledge, mentorship and funding accessible to aspiring entrepreneurs across Bharat. Through our partnership with DPIIT and Startup India, PW School of Startups aims to support aspiring founders with initiatives like PW UDYAMI, Aarambh and deep-tech acceleration programmes to help turn ideas into successful businesses,” Mustafa added.
Strengthening Regional Startup Ecosystems
PW School of Startups is also an accredited incubator under the Uttar Pradesh government's StartInUP initiative. Through its partnership with DPIIT, the organisation aims to combine its entrepreneurial guidance and incubation capabilities with Startup India's nationwide network and startup outreach.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen regional innovation hubs by expanding access to startup support beyond established metropolitan ecosystems. By bringing together training, mentorship, incubation and funding opportunities, the initiative aims to help entrepreneurs build scalable businesses and contribute to employment generation across India.
