India is the third-largest generator of e-waste globally, generating an estimated 4.1 million metric tonnes annually.


Karo Sambhav, a Gururgram-based circular economy and recycling company has raised INR 56 crore from Rainmatter by Zerodha as part of its pre-series A round.

Founded in 2017 by Pranshu Singhal, Karo Sambhav operates two recycling facilities has established collection channels in more than 50 cities across India and has channelized more than 150,000 metric tonnes of waste toward responsible recycling.

The company works across e-waste, batteries, glass and other end-of-life material streams, supported by a technology platform for transparency and traceability.

The capital infusion will help Karo Sambhav scale up its high-quality recycling infrastructure for recovery of critical, precious and high-value materials. The immediate focus is on e-waste keeping in mind the concentration of valuable metals and components.

Karo Sambhav has spent the last nine years building the operating base to collect, recycle and trace these material streams responsibly. Rainmatter by Zerodha’s investment enables us to scale high-quality recycling infrastructure for critical raw material recovery,” said Pranshu Singhal, Founder & CEO, Karo Sambhav.

Separately, Rainmatter joined India Foundation Fund and other individual investors to invest INR 2.77 crore in mental health platform Lissun, according to Entrackr.

This calendar year, Rainmatter has invested in quite a few startups, including VoltSeal, Ergon Labs and Fold.
