Electric vehicle company Simple Energy has launched its new Simple Wave electric scooter in the Indian market. Designed to meet the everyday needs of Indian families, the scooter is available in three variants, with prices starting at ₹1,09,999. Bookings are now open across Simple Energy touchpoints.
One of the key highlights of the Simple Wave is its storage capacity of up to 70 litres. This includes a 4-litre Pill auxiliary storage compartment, up to 63 litres of under-seat storage and a 3-litre glove box. The top-end Simple Wave+ gets a 5 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed IDC range of up to 243 km and a top speed of 90 kmph. It is powered by a 6.4 kW PMSM motor. Other variants are offered with 3.7 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 2.2 kWh battery options.
The scooter comes with Ride, Eco and ECOX riding modes, while higher variants also get a Sport mode. Depending on the variant, it is equipped with either a 7-inch TFT or 5-inch EBN display. TFT-equipped versions offer Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, turn-by-turn navigation, call and music controls, USB charging and over-the-air updates. Select variants also feature traction control, regenerative braking, hill-hold assist, reverse mode and crawl mode. The scooter also gets IP67-rated battery and motor protection.
Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy, said the Simple Wave is an important launch for the company and has been developed around the needs of Indian families. Simple Energy currently has a production capacity of 3,000 units per month and sells around 1,500 electric scooters monthly through more than 75 outlets across 63 cities. The company aims to increase monthly sales to 10,000 units by March 2027. So far, Simple Energy has raised ₹736 crore, including its latest ₹250 crore funding round.
