India renewable energy installed capacity has increased to 288.58 GW. Meanwhile, Bengaluru-based Smartgrid Analytics Pvt Ltd (SGA) has crossed 107 GW in renewable energy assets commissioned globally. According to the company, its technology is now deployed across more than 500 projects spanning solar, wind, battery storage, hybrid power and green hydrogen.
SGA commissioned or delivered around 12.4 GW of new capacity during FY2025-26. The company said revenue from battery storage and hybrid projects accounted for nearly 50% of its total revenue during the year, compared with almost zero a year earlier. This shift reflects the renewable energy sector’s transition from standalone power generation towards storage-backed and hybrid power systems.
Kumar M, Founder and CEO, SGA, said crossing the 107 GW milestone reflects the confidence of global clean energy companies in the company’s technology. He added that SGA’s storage-focused solutions have moved from the patent and product development stage to becoming nearly half of the company’s business over the past two years. According to him, the focus is no longer only on supplying power to the grid, but also on deciding how the power should be used at the next stage.
In India, SGA worked on two grid-scale battery projects for an independent power producer, with capacities of 300 MW/1,400 MWh and 300 MW/600 MWh. It also worked on five distributed storage sites, including a 22 MW/44 MWh storage system for a metropolitan distribution utility. Its hybrid projects in India include a 405 MW plant, a 435 MW project in Andhra Pradesh, a 600 MW master power plant controller in Madhya Pradesh and a 250 MW utility-scale project.
Internationally, SGA has delivered projects linked to 1,254 MW of capacity in the Middle East for a global EPC company. Its projects include a 1,500 MW project in Abu Dhabi and a 1,100 MW project in Saudi Arabia. The company has also worked on projects in Egypt, Azerbaijan, Oman and Algeria, along with an 80 MW project in South Africa and a 20 MW project in Uganda.
In the US, SGA provided technology for a 75 MW battery project in California. The project was commissioned in July 2025 and is supported remotely from Bengaluru. The company said exports contributed 24.5% of its total revenue, while projects without hardware accounted for 20.6%, reflecting its software-led approach.
SGA AI-based platform, Solvyn, supports automated control and market participation across more than 21 grid codes and 9 GWh of battery storage. The company is also expanding into demand-side management for data centres in India and the US. Earlier this year, SGA raised $3.3 million from strategic investors and clean energy experts and filed 21 patents, including two in the US, covering areas such as digital twin modelling, energy management system dispatch logic and its AURA intelligence framework.
