Switch Mobility, an electric bus manufacturer under India’s Hinduja Group, has completed the delivery of 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius, marking what the company describes as the largest electric bus export from India to date.
In the final phase, 90 buses were formally handed over at a ceremony attended by India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, highlighting strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
The buses have been provided under a Government-to-Government (G2G) donation arrangement, with procurement carried out through an open tender by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL). Operations will be managed by Mauritius’ National Transport Corporation (NTC).
The fleet includes the SWITCH EiV12 model, which seats up to 45 passengers and is equipped with LFP battery technology along with the SWITCH iON telematics system for real-time monitoring and fleet management.
The initiative is seen as a major step toward modernising and decarbonising public transport in Mauritius, while also strengthening Switch Mobility’s global expansion strategy in the electric mobility sector.
