ThunderPlus has launched a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Bachupally area of Hyderabad. The facility has been developed on previously unused land and is the company’s eighth charging station established under its franchise model.
The station was set up in partnership with IT professional Manoj, who converted his vacant land into a charging facility. Located between Bachupally and Bowrampet, the site features a 60 kW fast charger capable of serving two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and light commercial vehicles.
The charging station operates as a public facility and is accessible to all EV users without requiring a mobile application. The location was selected to cater to the growing residential and commercial demand in the rapidly developing Bachupally corridor.
ThunderPlus Executive Director and CEO Rajeev YSR said the franchise model enables landowners to transform idle assets into productive EV charging infrastructure. He added that the company currently operates more than 250 charging stations across India and plans to set up 100 additional franchise-based stations within the next six months.
The expansion comes amid rising EV adoption in India, while charging infrastructure continues to evolve. The Bachupally station’s fast charging capability is expected to particularly benefit commercial vehicle operators by reducing downtime.
