Advait Battery Ecosystem Private Limited, a subsidiary of listed Advait Energy Transitions Limited, has signed a Master Supply Agreement (MSA) with global energy storage manufacturer HiTHIUM for the supply of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells.
The agreement will strengthen cell supply for Advait’s upcoming 2.5 GWh annual Cell-to-Container Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly facility. Under the agreement, Advait will have provisions for cell offtake of up to 1 GWh over the next year, supporting the company’s plans to scale domestic BESS assembly for grid-scale and commercial and industrial energy storage applications in India.
Under the agreement, HiTHIUM will supply its 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells to Advait. These cells will be integrated into Advait’s domestic manufacturing ecosystem, where the company is developing capabilities across module and pack assembly, container integration and system commissioning.
Bhushan Shahane, Chief Operating Officer, Advait Battery Ecosystem, said a reliable and high-quality cell supply chain is critical to scaling the company’s 2.5 GWh BESS assembly capacity. He added that the partnership with HiTHIUM will support the development of cost-optimised and high-performance energy storage solutions in India.
HiTHIUM is recognised as a BloombergNEF Tier 1 global energy storage manufacturer and supplies battery cells and energy storage systems for utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and residential applications.
Advait 2.5 GWh BESS Cell-to-Container assembly line is being developed in Gangad, Gujarat. The facility is designed to bring together cell sourcing, module and pack assembly, container integration and system commissioning under an integrated manufacturing framework.
According to the company, commercial production at the facility is expected to begin soon. The facility will cater to energy storage applications across utility-scale projects, commercial and industrial use cases, and renewable energy integration.
Advait has also entered into a strategic collaboration with Adaptive Engineering to develop capabilities in engineering design, Energy Management System (EMS) architecture, PLC/SCADA and system integration. With the HiTHIUM partnership, Advait’s BESS supply chain will cover cell sourcing alongside EMS, engineering, module and pack assembly, and container integration capabilities.
Advait Energy Transitions is a Gujarat-based new and renewable energy and power company with operations spanning battery energy storage manufacturing, green hydrogen projects, electrolyser manufacturing, fuel cell manufacturing and clean energy EPC.
